sealing MMA blocks

From:Cathy Mayton

I do not believe it is necessary to seal your methyl methacrylate (MMA) blocks.  I spent 13 years in an orthopaedic lab processing very large blocks of retrieved and cadaveric implants and we never sealed our blocks.  We also processed small blocks such as rabbit tibia and we still did not seal our blocks.  MMA is hydrophobic and will not take up room moisture if you live in a humid environment.

I hope this helps.
