Tissue-Tek Coverslipper/Gross specimen storage

From:Paula Wilder

Hi Everyone -

Two quick questions. We are using the Tissue Tek Coverslipper for all of
our slides. The Cytology slides are experiencing cornflaking, even though we
have increased the xylene drops to 10 or more per slide. Does anyone else
have this problem? Does anyone have a solution? thank you so very much.
The other question - we have inherited shelving which we would like to use
for specimen storage. However, the storage units do not have solid shelves.
The spacing is such that specimen containers should be fine. My question
is - is there a regulation about this? Does anyone know where I can find
out if this is ok or not? Thank you again for any and all help. Any
information is greatly appreciated!
