RE: Stain for Alzheimer's disease

From:"Morken, Tim"

Here's a good reference posted recently on Histonet. Although it doesn't mention a "palmgren" stain it discusses many others.

"Stains for Deifferential Diagnosis of Degenerative Dementias", Munoz, D.G., Biotechnic and Histochemistry, 1999, Vol 74, No. 6, P. 311 - 320.

Subject: Stain for Alzheimer's disease

I am looking for a stain to show the neurofibrillary changes found in Alzheimer's disease.  A couple of findings from our pathologist was the Cross Modified Palmgren stain, with no reference on how to prepare the stain and the Bielschowski's technique.  Anyone have any suggestions?
