nothing can be done if you have a non professional fabricating letters. as for half coverslipping i have seen 20 year experienced histo techs in a hurry carry to wet a slide to the pathologist only to discover the coverslip had slid off the tissue. stuff happens ya know. 
and i can coverslip and cut with the best of them.
