One of our histo-tech's (at my former job) would do the deaner work for extra 
money.  I believe she gets $75.00 (or more) per autopsy.  She would get the 
body ready and have the room stocked and ready to go for the Pathologist, she 
would assist during the autopsy, then clean up and close the body, then 
contact the funeral home to let them know that the body was now ready for 
pickup.  I do not think that it would be fair to include this duty and not to 
be compensated for it.
