Re: Escherichia coli

From:Richard Cartun

In my experience, E. coli will label beautifully in formalin-fixed,
paraffin-embedded. Like all IHC stains, the majority of your success
will depend on the quality of your primary antibody.

Dear netters: I need contacting any of you with current or past
experience
on paraffin IHC (i.e. Streptavidin-biotin or ABC IHC) aimed at the
identification of VT + (=Verotoxigenic ) strains of Escherichia coli
on
jejunal or ileal sections. I'm specially interested in listening to
the
advise of those that have used primary antisera to Esherichia coli
somatic
or "O" antigens, specially "O 111" to mark such bacteria when attached
to
the epitelial apical border.
I'd be also interested in getting the exact processing protocol that
has
been used in these cases.

Thank you in advance
