Anne,
I used to use hyaluronidase and chondroitinase ABC for collagen II from
U of Iowa, but it was very complicated and expensive, so we switched to
premade pepsin from Research Genetics with good results and it is a lot
easier and cheaper.  If your poor results include non-specific
background staining, I can share some blocking ideas with you.
