RE: cryostat cleaning
At our site, we clean them every time we cut a suspected "contaminated
specimen" (i.e.. TB) on them which is sometimes weekly as we can do
sometimes 20 - 25 frozens a day. If one of our cryostats somehow misses
being contaminated, it is cleaned once a month regardless. I believe they
use the leica cryofect spray.
Also, we have our cryostats set to defrost every night to keep them clean.
