RE: Medical Technologists working in Histology
I am a Medical Technologist working in histology. I have a degree in
Clinical Laboratory science with a major in Medical Technology, practiced
for two years.I got interested in histology since my sister is a Cytotech.
She got me a perdiem job in histology with more emphasis in molecular
biology. Since I am a medical technologist, they trained me to do Immuno
using the Dako immunostainer as well as immunofluorescence technique. I then
started learning how to cut my own, stained, embed and eventually after 2
years took the certifications. I stayed for another 2 years then started
looking for a job in research where I am working now. I am here to stay and
love what I am doing.
I am not a practicing MT now ,but I do keep up to date of what is happening
into the field. I am very proud to learn both the
Anatomic and Clinical laboratory.
