RE: Med Techs in Histo

From:"Mottishaw, Brad"

I am a HT (ASCP) and proud of it, but I am returning to school to obtain my
MT. I think it is great to have MT's working in the Histology lab. In our
Pathology department the MT's do all of the IHC because it is so closely
related to the other work that is being performed in the Hematopathology
department. We even have one HTL(ASCP working in the Hematopathology
department. After all, up until now all HT(ASCP)'s could obtain their
certification by OJT. I would naturally assume that a MT would have no
problem learning on the job the same as a high school graduate would. Just
my two cents.

Ok I am ready to be burned at the stake now, BRING IT!

Brad

Kathy,
I couldn't agree with you more. I work in both areas and love it.
