Advantages of MTTS over tape for whole animal frozens

From:Instrumedics

Histoneters:

There was a message posted on the Histonet that stated that there is no need
for a tape-transfer system since whole body sections can be retrieved by the
use of 3M tape or its equivalent. While it is true that tape can be
successfully used for autoradiography, the tape-transfer system allows for
the transfer of the whole-body section onto a slide at which point
histological stains, in-situ hybridization, and immunostains, as well as
other staining technologies can be used. The Macro Tape-Transfer System
(MTTS) expands research possibilities beyond the scope of the regular tape
method.
