Lately in the lab that I work in the pathologists have complained of "bubbly"
or "vacuated" nuclei of the epithelial cells in the glands. The rest of the
tissue appears to be normal. One theory they've brought to us is the use of
freeze spray when sectioning is leaving ice crystals behind and creating this
artifact. Any input/suggestions or information on similar experiences would
be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
