Louise, commiserations, this has happened to us on a few
occasions, almost always over the weekend, tissues left high and
dry after leaving one of the alcohols!
The method I have always used is to place the cassettes
immediately into a 50:50 mix of 70%alcohol and glycerol
(assuming your tissues dried aftrer alcohol) and leave for at least 2
hours, preferably overnight, then process from 70% alcohol the
next day. This produces a block that you can cut but you will find
staining looks somewhat "unusual" depending on the tissue and
degree of drying.Used subbed or charged slides!
Good luck,
Terry.
