I may be wrong on this but it is my understanding that recruiters are
paid (usually by the entity doing the hiring) a percentage of the salary
of the position they find someone for.  A few years ago there weren't
any recruiters for histotechs out there.  I could only guess that this
was because the salaries were so low that it wasn't worth the
recruiter's time.  I was happy when I saw recruiters posting on the
Histonet.  I felt like it shows progress for our field.
