While we are on the subject of fixation for FISH and Her/2Neu.  (Also ER and
PR ) Are there any documentation/s of how long a tissue should be fixed for
these studies?  I maintain that the  usual 2 hours of fixation on the
processor is not adequate time to fix larger pieces of tissue, especially
breast tissue.  Of course there is some fixation during the day before
processing, however, I have always believed most fatty tissue needs at least
overnight fixation for adequate processing.  Does the time element correlate
with the receptor response?
