I have worked in labs that already had a PA and also a lab that hired a PA. From
the histology side of things, I never had a problem in working with a PA.
Because of their training, I always felt that they submitted better(thinner)
sections. The only area where I saw some problems were between the pathologists
and PA. A relationship has to develop between the pathologist and PA. From my
experience as the pathologist becomes more confident in the PA, they will
delegate more responsibility to them. Currently we don't have one, but there is
talk of getting one.
