Hi Eileen,
You can gross specimens if there are written guidelines and you have had
this function delegated to you by your pathologist who supervises this work
as part of the laboratory policy.

Subject: grossing derm specimens
Hi everyone,
I know this has been discussed not to long ago so I do apologize for the
repeat question. We have a new Dermatologist who will be sending the lab
skin bxs. She wants us to do her grossing on simple cases.
My question is, what is the policy for registered and non registered
histologists to do gross sectioning. My understanding is if the histologist
has grossed before a certain date we can gross the skins.
Thank you all in advance
Eileen
