Vikki and interested others:
UDP-glucuronsyltransferase 2B15 catalyzes the conjugation of
17B-hydroxysteriods (estradiol) to glucuronic acid faciliationg their
inactivation and excretion. Therefore additions of various quantities of
UGT2B15 can be calculated from estrogen depletion assays. Most often though,
Bi-PASA assay (Bidirectional PCR amplification of specific alleles)is used
to determine genetic polymorphisms. Please see the work of Levesque et al.
Good luck, Donna Montague

Subject: UDP-glucuronosyltransferase in rat liver

Good Morning!

We're currently looking at trying to get a ground
point on this particular enzyme in rat liver. The
question is that we cannot find sufficient information
about it in tissue be it either fixed or frozen. Has
anyone done this or any of the isoenzyme forms that
relate to this in tissue or is it by DNA extraction?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks.
