We use a vertical 25 slide staining rack and can get two of these in our
staining dishes. We use plastic containers similar to tuperware that we
bought from Cole Parmer. We use glass for the xylene. Sheila

Whew, are these dishes pricey!!! If you are in a pinch finacially, and the
slide racks fit in a glass (pyrex) bread loaf baking pans, you could get 5
or more of the bread loaf pans for the price of one of these dishes. Lids
fitting properly could be a problem but some hard core shopping in a
kitchen/gourmet or Hmmmm Walmart may prove to be adequate and cheaper.

Stainless steel pans are also available from some vendors.
These also look like baking pans and might be more compatible with the lids
(mine are metal) and would also work for staining through the alcohols,
clearants, I don't think I would use metal pans for stain solutions,
particularly the acid steps.

Just a suggestion, but maybe worth a look.
