Christiano,

Propidium iodide can be used with TRITC filter set, but doesn't stain
living cells. If you want to stain living cells, try the Molecular
Probes' web site: www.probes.com. They have nuclear stains for both
living and dead cells for use with wide range of filter sets.
Unfortunately, some of these dyes are rather pricey. If you're
staining dead cells, I'd stick with the inexpensive propidium iodide,
available from a wide range of vendors.
