This is from a course given by RT Miller in 1998. i have used when necessary
and found it to be very effective,
Avidin block:
2 egg whites diluted to 200ml with distilled water for 15 minutes at
room temperature. Before this step slides should be thoroughly rinsd in
distilled water as salt solutions[PBS] may precipitate the proteins in the
egg whites. Rinse well with distille water to remove the somewhat tenacious
egg white. immerse in 0.2% biotin [ICN] in PBS 15 minutes at
roomtemperature. Hope this helps.
