Terry,
I use rat embryo tissue as a control for a lot of the bone and
cartilage markers I do by IHC. Also use this as control for matrix
markers, such as collagens, osteocalcin, osteopontin, sialo protein,
etc. I process it delicately into paraffin. Short cycle. Also fix
fresh in NBF or Paraformaldehyde or Zinc Formalin for a max of 24
hrs.
