Is there a general rule of thumb to predict the degree of tissue shrinkage
following formalin fixation and standard processing with paraffin embedding?
More specifically, what can be said regarding the shrinkage of a length of
medium sized artery ( e.g. popliteal) after such fixation and processing?
Do you have references?
