Hi fellow histonetters
I am looking into purchasing a Diatome histo knife but would like to
find out more about them. Is there anybody out there that uses one?
I would like to use it on our ultramicrotome for cutting Glycol
Methacrylate sections to be viewed for light microscopy only.
Apparently these knives can be used in microtomes with a retractable
specimen arm in the return phase as well. This is important to me as
eventually I would like to cut sections on an ordinary as opposed to
an ultramicrotome. I am also not sure which type of microtome, i.e.
one with a retractable specimen arm in the return phase, to consider
buying when I do convert.
