[Histonet] Counter stain

From:bjdewe@aol.com

I am doing a peroxidase DAB stain for an antigen that is present only in small quantities in the nucleus. I am doing it on rat bone. If I counterstain with hematoxylin it covers the DAB stain. What else can I use that will only stain the cytoplasm and not the nucleus. i thought of methyl green but it too is supposed to stain the nucleus. I thought of neutral red but it won't look so good with the brown. Suggestions?

Cheers,
Lorie
