Have you tried a 1.5 to 2% ammonium hydroxide soak? 
One or two minutes works great on kidney and liver. 
For blocks that you are already in the clamp and you
don't want to remove from the microtome you can
moisten a kimwipe from your waterbath and just gently
rub it on the block.  
Pituitary tissue I soak in just ice water for around 5
Next to swine skin, mouse organ tissue you have to
play with a little to get sections.  
Avoid any kind of tissue freezing spray if you can. 
If not, lightly spray the blade.
