Re: Re-Immuno control sections
We cut all of our controls in advance. We have obtained satisfactory
immunoreactivity on unstained slides as old as 2-5 years. However, I
have noticed that some nuclear antigens don't seem to do as well after
several months. In those situations we cut smaller numbers of slides.

At present we cut our control sections for immuno at the same time as
test which can be very time consuming when you have a big run of
would like to have a bank of control slides so all we would need is to
the tests as we already do this in special stains. What do other people
and is there some reason why this might not be a good idea?I have
about the loss of antigenicity as a time factor but from papers I have
they talk about the section being stored for months. However the time
does not seem to be a problem for tissue blocks.
Another item I am looking for is the e-mail address of Sherwood
of Saint Louis if they have one.
Thanks in advance
