RE: stainers

From:"Cummings, Lori Ann"

For high throughput H&E, I would recommend the Sakura DRS2000. It has
continuous feed capabilities and is quite efficient, producing high and
consistent quality H&E stains.

Currently, DakoCytomation has the Artisan for special stains (including H&E)
and immunos (48 slide capacity) and the Autostainer and Autostainer Plus for
Special Stains (including H&E), immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence,
and semi-automated in situ hybridization (48 slide capacity). Autostainer
and autostainer+ are completely open to use any vendor's reagents with
flexible programming.

Ventana and Biogenex have automated systems that are similar to
DakoCytomations, as well.

I would recommend and H&E stainer as a stand alone and an automated
ss/ihc/ish as another.

Good luck.

Subject: stainers

I need some information about autostainers. I need to find out which are the
best autostainers. My supervisor wants to possibly buy one....are there
stainers that can run H&E's as well as Immuno.'s and other special stains?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

     Thanks alot!

Valerie
