RE: Re - Ventana Labels

From:"Sebree Linda A."

We always put the Ventana barcode labels on right after the slides are cut. They go through HIER just fine. The only time there is a problem is when we leave the finished slides in xylene too long and they develop "elephant snot"...Ventana's terminology.

Hi again,
I am looking to see if anyone out there is putting the ventana barcode
labels on their slides at the time the sections are cut.I can probably see a
problem in the antigen retrevial if the heat would affect them but cannot
see if the same would apply to the ones which require digestion.I don't
think that the STW process would have deleterious affect if the xylene was
kept just below the attached label.
Thanks in advance
