The following is from the Manual of Published  Histochemical Methods by
Holde Puchtler and Co-Workers

Methacarn
    Methanol                        60 mL
    Chloroform                    30 mL
    Glacial Acetic Acid      10 mL

Solution keeps well in tightly closed container (glass).
