!0% NBF is made from 37% formaldehyde (100 % formaldehyde is a gas) In the
histology lab we use 37% formaldehyde as if it were 100%. The most commonly
used (from AFIP) buffering method is:
37% formaldehyde (formalin)......100mls
distilled water..................900mls
sodium phosphate momobasic.......4 gms
sodium phosphate dibasic.........6.5 gms

Formalin a 37% solution of formaldehyde? And what is 10% Buffered formalin?
Does that mean its a 10% solution of 37% formaldehyde? All help is very
