Terry,

I am using the Shandon Histobath to freeze frozen sections and tissue
for DNA studies.  We use isopentane in the unit and the temperature gets
to about -55 degrees C.  We think it is easier to use then the liquid
nitrogen.  Call me if you want any more info.
