The point of using Zinc formalin is that it will in most cases illiminate
the need for antigen retrieval because cross-linking has not occured to
the extent it will with formalin. If you are going to use HIER anyway,
why bother to switch to zinc formalin. You could run some comparison
tissues fixed in formalin with hier, fixed in zinc formalin with and without
hier.
