Re: Klinipath film removal

From:Aidan Schurr

We have also switched to using the Klinipath film, and I find it superior to the Sakura stuff - less prone to lifting, optically better, and best of all, much cheaper! The white residue you are talking about is in my experience due to not enough time in the acetone. We give a good ten minute soak in acetone, to completely remove the tape and all the glue, 2 x 5minutes in *fresh* xylene, then recoverslip.

Hope this is some help

Aidan

We have the Sakura film coverslipper and use the Klinipath brand film
for coverslipping. If we need to remove the film coverslip, we first
place the slide in acetone and then in xylene. Even after soaking in
xylene for 40 minutes, there is still a visible residue on the slide and
sometimes after re-coverslipping there is a white residue. How do others
remove the film?
