Re: Human neutrophil staining
Philip Bergin at Göteborg University in Sweden asks:

neutrophils in human gastric biopsies. Frozen sections, and possibly ffpe.<<
H & E works extremely well for this purpose. One identifies neutrophils in
tissue sections by their small, dark, multiply lobed nuclei. I would be
reluctant to go beyond H & E in making a diagnosis of chronic active
gastritis (which requires the presence of neutrophils) in gastric biopsy
material, and which is strongly associated with Helicobacter pylori infection.
