Re: Auto Coverslippers

From:Andrew Kennedy

Hi Steve,

We have had a Sakura coverslipper for quite a number of years now and have
found it to be a very reliable machine - it is fast and the slides dry
quickly. We were extremely happy with it until the last year or
so....Unfortunately the tape is the problem - we have tried a few different
tapes but all with the same result - We have discovered, much to our dismay
that after only a few years the tape lifts off the slide and it takes the
sections with it!!

So you are left with a lovely labelled piece of glass but no sections or
coverslip!!! We have lost a lot of sections, especially when we retrieve
slides for reviewing cases - the tape coverslip floats away, never to be
seen again.....Consequently we have just purchased a new glass
coverslipper - it is much slower but our archival material will go the
distance

Great machine...crummy tape.

We are looking for at purchasing a automated coverslipper and would like to
know if anyone has had any trouble with the Sakura tape dispensing
coverslipper.

If anyone has any comment on the Micron autoslipper that would also be
appreciated.
