Re: A few words in response to "educatedhisto"....

Hey get this straight I am not complaining about my situation I am just
commenting on other posting to the site. I am merely suggesting what people
need to do instead of complaining about their pay. I don't believe anybody
owes me anything. I expect to be paid what I am worth and that my salary
should depend on my work, not what everyone else is making. And yes I am
making a good wage. But heres a question for you. Why is it that when you
go looking for a new job, they want to know what you are making currently
before they give you an offer? Could it be that they are basing what they
are going to pay you off of what you currently make? So, if you are
underpaid at your current job, you will automatically be underpaid at your
new job.

I really don't like the generalization of my heritage either. The fact that
I am a Mexican-American legal immigrant that came here when I was 18 and
worked my own ass off to get where I am at and didn't have daddy's big bucks
to help means that I am far above the game you are playing. Haven't you
noticed that the majority of the people that are Histotechs are women? The
reason for this is that a man couldn't support his family on the meager
earnings that most histos get.

I have no problem. I AM bettering myself. I made supervisor in 3 years
time. I attend workshops to keep myself educated and current on the latest
histotechnology, etc, etc. Who knows I may even go back to school for a
masters in Veterinary Pathology.

But let me guess.......you come from a lower income hispanic family, busted
your butt to get through school and now you feel that the world owes you
something. Well guess what. You're not alone and the world isn't fair. I
hope you find your riches. I've already found mine.

well if your happy with substandards thats your problem. Myself I want to
always be bettering myself with education and pay. Just remember that the
person with the most when he dies, WINS.
