RE: resignation notice?

From:"McCormick, James"

Dear Histotechs, spelled with a capital H because it is a Proper Noun and
you are all professionals. Perhaps some more than others. Is a professional
ballet dancer a professional? A glass blower? ( if that is what he does well
for a living ). A Policeman or Fireman, who gave themselves at 9/11 in the
practice of their profession, or military personnel? Really,....you are all
splitting hairs. I consider myself a professional Histotech because that is
where I started and I make darn good slides, also I am a Pathologist.

Dear "educatedhisto":

a) In my opinion all histotechs, regardless of an arbitrary "I have a
degree" distinction, are professionals
b) I happen to have a degree, but regard my "untrained" colleagues as
professionals also. I believe they would be extremely upset to have you
degrade them so.
c) It is *extremely* poor netiquette to leave your emails unsigned. WHO ARE
YOU?

Yours barely controlled,

Aidan Schurr, BMLSc (Otago)

"No its not John, because Histotechs are not PROFESSIONALS. Professionals
are
people with degrees"
