Low temperature freezing baths

From:"Rayner, Anne"

Do any of you Histonetters out there have any experience of using freezer
baths such as the ThermoShandon Histobath? We are thinking of purchasing
this or something similar to freeze tissue samples prior to storage but
would like to know of any pros and cons from users.
Ideally we want something that takes up a minimum of space in our small
dissection room - would we be better off with one of the "cold finger"
freezing probes with isopentane or is a coldbath a better proposition?

We currently use liquid nitrogen in flasks but would like to eliminate the
need to carry the flasks up 3 floors and through the lab.

Thanks in anticipation,
Anne
