c-Myc staining
From: | "Bennett, Catherine (Katie)" <cbennett@lrri.org> |
Anyone out there doing immunohistochemical staining for c-Myc in any type of
species?
I'm playing with a human breast carcinoma as my positive control while I
work out the procedure since this is the type of tumor suggested to use as a
positive control. I ultimately want the stain to work in rat lung tumors.
I bought my anti-c-Myc primary from Santa Cruz (clone c-19) and the spec
sheet indicates this is a nuclear stain in tumors, but I'm seeing some
cytoplasmic staining that doesn't show up in any of my negative controls.
I'm wondering if this is real c-Myc staining or what? The only other thing
I can assume is that this is non-specific primary binding, and that I may
need to dilute it out and try doing it overnight.
Any advice is totally appreciated!
