Re: IHC negative controls - ASCP exam and math

From:Lee & Peggy Wenk <lpwenk@mail.netquest.com>

I'm curious about your statement "ascp's decision to remove the mathematics
stuff from our registry exam..."

I haven't heard that this is being removed. I just checked the certification
exam content outline on the ASCP Board of Registry home page

http://www.ascp.org/bor/certification

and it still lists lab math under Laboratory Operations, and specifically
lists :
- metric
- percent solutions
- dilutions
- normal
- molar

The only thing I have heard recently that is to be dropped is most
of the EM questions, except for fixation. The only other changes that
I have hears about is the addition of cytology prep this year, and grossing
techniques being added in 2005.

Someone from the ASCP BOR histology exam committee "listening"
in who can make a comment, please?

i read yours!
i'm still confounded about ascp's decision to remove the mathematics stuff
from our registry exam.....it is readily apparent to me that it still very
much needs to be there!
