RE: Slide adhesives

Heat. Say 10 minutes after the water has dried up on a 80 C hotplate.
Alternatively flame the slide over a spirit burner or a low Bunsen 
intermittently for say 30 seconds.
No doubt it is possible to heat damage plastic sections, but I have never done 
that.
It is wise to stain and wash over a shallow dish so that a section could be 
retrieved if it come off.
With such large sections, I expect that you could use bulldog clips holding the 
section corners against the slides.
