It is a wonderful device, simple and easy to work with. We have three of
them, and Scytek no longer supplies them, from what I understand. I prefer
the unit that has no bells and whistles, the older style is perfect for
Room temperature, or cold room incubations WHEN you have to maintain a flat
orientation of slides, otherwise we go to the Shandon Coverplate holders
for larger volume runs (slides). The original lids were clear plastic, a
bit more fragile than the later design, but you could see the whole slide
easier.

If one has difficulty in picking up slides, dislikes picking up slides,or
has sections which are a bit fragile (my frozens on occasion) this unit is
wonderful. I keep hoping the unit will be made in the same design again,
nothing fancy, just plain, simple and totally useful.
