Hello. I am new to this board. I have a question. Are there any rules or
policy regarding dumping chemicals down the drain? Which chemicals can you
dump and which ones require "special" care? I am talking about the routine
chemicals, silver nitrate, potassium cyanide and most of the other "routine"
special stains. Also what are the regulations on "biohazard waste? In the
histology lab is there any such thing as "regular trash" when you are
working with cytology specimens. I know that processed tissue sometimes goes
in the regular trash but is it suppose to? Where can I get these policies?
Are they regulated by the state or by the federal agencies? HELP. HELP.
