I have sectioned 5 micron paraffin sections on Rainbow Trout eggs using 5-6
eggs per block; the fewer, the better the success rate. I pare the block down
and soak the block with Decal fluid (few drops of Decal fluid on a piece of
kleenex or other soft tissue paper) then place on a cold plate, approx. -5
degrees C. for at least 15 mins. You have to get the first few sections. They
tend to come off the slides during staining so use Poly-L-Lysine or other
charged slides or dry the slides overnight. Good luck !!
