shrinkage in the dehydration of mouse brains

hi all, I have been working on the dehydration of mouse brains, but I have
been getting about a 50% shrinkage on overall volume. I have been using a
ethanol/isopropyl dehydration series. Does anyone have any ideas on how to
prevent shrinkage? Please help . Thanks
