If you don't want it to shrink, don't put it in alcohol. The brain is
mostly water. Some plastics can infiltrate from water, but I think some
shrinkage still happens. Sarah
Also, shrinkage can be avoided by not swimming in cold water. Seinfeld

hi all, I have been working on the dehydration of mouse brains, but I have
been getting about a 50% shrinkage on overall volume. I have been using a
ethanol/isopropyl dehydration series. Does anyone have any ideas on how to
prevent shrinkage? Please help . Thanks
