take a peek at the CAP website for info on how to disinfect the tissue. This may make solution neutralization unnecessary if you treat the specimen prior to processing.

We have a suspected CJD case on a temporal artery.  Out protocol says to
treat all solutions used in the processing steps with fresh, undiluted
bleach, but I didn't think you could mix formalin (phenol-formalin) and
bleach????  Any help would be appreciated.
