In N America Electron Microscopy Sciences supplies 16% Formaldehyde and we 
handle that material in Australia/ New Zealand. Incidentally, when 
paraformaldehyde is prepared, the product is a very high purity formaldehyde. 
This product gives excellent fixation and penetration and is very suitable for 
electron microscopy.
The 16% formaldehyde in sealed glass vials keeps for over a year at room 
temperature.
