our woodshop make 1-inch squares of wood to use as cryostat holders for muscle
biopsy specimens. Worked great and didn't cost anything (they'ed make 200 of
them out of scrap in about 5 minutes).</SPAN></FONT></DIV>

have never understood the reason for these little bits of cork, which
provide a non-heat conducting, wobbly, prone-to-fall-off, interface between
